The Fusion Method – Lesson 3 – How to Generate Free Traffic Using Classified Ads

Imagine this, you’re a business owner, and your website includes a landing page to generate leads. You may also have a product for sale and you’re very determined to be successful online. Unfortunately, you have no idea on how to generate traffic and simply put, you are the only one visiting your site! You are not alone. A significant number of website owners don’t know how to drive traffic. Luckily, it’s not that difficult. With the correct training, the right resources and a some effort, you can drive tons of targeted, free traffic to your site. The key word is “targeted”.

There are many free and simple ways you can drive traffic to your website or landing page. You need to get your URL (site address) everywhere that you can possibly think of that’s 100% free.

Classified Ads are one approach to generating free web traffic. Hundreds of sites exist on the web for placing a Classified Ad. Many of them are free. Your challenge is to determine how extensive you want your Classified Ad campaign to be. How much time do you want to spend?

You have a large selection of regional, national and global Ad sites from which to choose. A lot depends on the audience you are trying to attract to your web site. Most Classified Ad websites offer headings under which you place an Ad, similar to how traditional print media works. Attracting the right audience depends on how relevant the heading, or headings, you choose are.

Craigslist.org is the largest website where you can place free Ads in various cities across The United States and Canada to generate interest for your product or business opportunity. In fact, it’s ranked the 39th most visited website in the world on Alexa.com. That’s some serious traffic for your business! Other free Classified Ad sites are kijiji.com and backpage.com.

There are some risks you should be aware of. Some Classified Ad sites are actually schemes to generate email lists. Placing an Ad could get you more junk email than web traffic. Being a target for junk email is a risk you run just by being active on the net. We recommend you do a search on Google and stick with the classified ads sites on the 1st and 2nd pages. Look through some of the categories to verify the amount of Ads placed. This will give you a good indication whether the site is worth the time and effort.
Whichever method you use to drive traffic, your efforts must be consistent. Don’t expect huge results overnight. Be patient and remain focused.
